Departure towards the charming medieval town of Óbidos. This lovely village of white cottages is surrounded by walls of the fourteenth century and its entrance is decorated with eighteenth-century tiles. Inside the Castle, opportunity to admire the Pousada, which maintains its medieval elements in the decor. A walk on top of the walls allows us to get an overview of the village. Then continued in direction of Alcobaça, where a visit to the Church of the Monastery of Santa Maria will be made. This church is the largest in the country and is known for its medieval architecture. It was founded in the twelfth century and is related to the arrival of the Cistercian Order in Portugal and our nation's birth. This monument is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in it are buried D. Pedro and D Inês de Castro, protagonists of a tragic love story. Lunch break in the fishing village of Nazaré, where you can enjoy its magnificent bay. The tour continues to Batalha, where you can visit the church of the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória. This Monastery, as the Alcobaça Monastery, is classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. Masterpiece of Gothic architecture, with Manueline elements, this monument celebrates the victory of D. João I over Castela in Aljubarrota, in the year 1385. Finally, visit the Sanctuary of Fátima, altar of the Christian faith, place of worship and world pilgrimage destination. The dates of 13th May and 13th October witness the countless believers celebrating the apparitions of the Virgin to the three shepherd children. Their tombs are inside the Basilica of the Sanctuary, where they can still be admired stained glass windows depicting scenes of the apparitions. Visit the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Chapel of the Apparitions, which marks the spot where the Virgin appeared to the three Sheperds of Fatima: Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia.
